Dr. Brian Noland
President, East Tennessee State University
Dr. Noland has served as president of East Tennessee State University (ETSU) since 2012. Under his leadership, ETSU has reached record highs in enrollment, graduation, retention, employee satisfaction, and research funding. He launched the “Go Beyond the Classroom” initiative to expand community-engaged learning and worked with BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee to establish the BlueSky Institute, a workforce-driven computer science program. A recognized leader in higher education and health care collaboration, Noland serves on the boards for NCAA Division I, Ballad Health, and Bank of Tennessee. He previously held board roles with the American Council on Education, the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, and Tennessee Valley Authority.
