Rory Thomas
President, Memphis Medical District Collaborative
Thomas leads efforts to revitalize the Memphis Medical District and its major health care and educational anchor institutions into a more vibrant, safe, and equitable community. A Memphis native, he has nearly 20 years of experience in community and economic development, finance, and strategic planning with a strong track record of advancing initiatives that benefit local businesses, residents, and neighborhoods. His leadership reflects a deep commitment to inclusive growth and long-term impact. Thomas holds a bachelor’s in business administration and an MBA from Christian Brothers University plus a master’s in management from the University of Phoenix. He has earned both local and national awards and recognition from America’s Small Business Development Center Network, the National Black MBA Association, Memphis Business Journal, Memphis Magazine, Southwest Tennessee Community College, and Christian Brothers University.
