Dr. Blake Freeman
Chief Academic Officer, Hamilton County Schools
Freeman leads the academic vision and oversees teaching and learning initiatives that impact over 44,000 students in Hamilton County. With more than 23 years of experience in public education, he has served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and district leader in urban, suburban, and rural settings. Throughout his career, Freeman has championed innovative learning opportunities, expanded college and career pathways, and led initiatives that strengthen instruction and improve student outcomes. He holds a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, a master’s degree in instructional leadership from Tennessee Technological University, and educational specialist and doctor of education degrees from Carson-Newman University.
