Co-Founder and CEO, Instruction Partners

Through her work at Instruction Partners, Freitag aims to strengthen instructional leadership in schools to ensure teachers have support to improve learning experiences and learning outcomes for students, especially students of color, multilingual learners, those with disabilities, and those experiencing poverty. She previously served as assistant commissioner of curriculum and instruction for the Tennessee Department of Education, overseeing K-12 core academics. Prior to that, Freitag managed Teach For America’s D.C. and Connecticut Regions and taught seventh-grade math. She holds a bachelor’s in history from Yale University and a master’s in education policy from Johns Hopkins University.
