David Mansouri hosts Friday’s Focus featuring Scott Campbell from Persist Nashville, an organization empowering more Nashville high school graduates, and especially students of color, to earn a college degree.

While only one out of four Metro Nashville graduates earns a college degree, Persist Nashville students are enrolling at rates more than 30 percent higher than their Metro Nashville peers. Scott Campbell is also among the newest members of the Complete Tennessee Leadership Institute (CTLI), a joint initiative of SCORE and The Hunt Institute.

Watch Friday’s Focus to learn more about Persist Nashville’s “Coaching, Community, & Care” model in an effort to double Nashville’s college graduation rate:

  • Coaching: text-based and in-person
  • Community: student led on-campus study groups, events, and connections
  • Care: financial emergency fund and professional mentoring support
