Dr. Matthew Loos
Vice President & Chief Academic Officer, Ballad Health
Dr. Loos was the chief medical officer for the southwest market in 2018 when Mountain States Alliance and Wellmont Health merged to create Ballad Health. As CMO, he was a primary liaison with the graduate and undergraduate medical education program at East Tennessee State University and served as the executive lead for the Mountain States Health Alliance research department. In 2019, Loos transitioned into the role of chief academic officer for Ballad Health, with oversight of all academic affiliations and training programs, including over 300 graduate medical education residents and more than 6,000 learners across the spectrum of health care. His efforts create and facilitate educational opportunities for the citizens of the Appalachian Highlands, from primary and secondary school through postsecondary training, and ongoing/continuing medical education.
