The State Collaborative on Reforming Education (SCORE) turns 15 this year. For students, a birthday is an important milestone. It’s another year to reflect on their accomplishments and growth, to express gratitude to those who are alongside them in their journey, and to look forward to what’s ahead. For SCORE it is no different.
As we mark our 15th birthday, I am proud to share an exciting new chapter in our journey — a refreshed brand and newly designed website to signify the energy we’re taking with us into the coming years. We’re celebrating where we’ve been and looking ahead to our continued role in ensuring that Tennessee students succeed.
More Than Just a Visual Update
Over the past 15 years, SCORE has been a steadfast advocate focused on advancing our mission to catalyze transformative change in Tennessee education so that all students can achieve success. When you experience our new brand, we hope you’ll see it as an embodiment of our mission and share in the sense of optimism it brings.
We chose the fresh, vibrant colors to double down on our commitment to a brighter future for every student in Tennessee. The refreshed logo keeps our state’s tri-star at its core while adopting an updated font that carries with it a sense of forward motion — a reflection of the progress for which we will continue to strive.
A New Website Designed With You in Mind
Bolstered by our new brand, our new website is built for everyone who joins us in improving student outcomes. We crafted this digital space to provide our partners, education advocates, community leaders, and policymakers with easier access to the resources, information, and insights that can help support student excellence in Tennessee.
We invite you to explore some of these new features:
1. Accessible, Searchable Resources
We understand the importance of having access to comprehensive research and data to support decision-making and advocacy efforts. We built the resources page to be a one-stop hub that offers a wide array of searchable reports, policy briefs, toolkits, and more. By allowing you to filter resources by topic and type, this page is designed to empower advocates with the knowledge and insights needed to drive meaningful change in our education system.
2. Insights on Our New Perspectives Blog
Every data point or body of research has a “why” behind it. As part of our commitment to inspiring innovative thinking and fostering informed discussions that advance student success, we are excited to introduce our new blog, Perspectives. This platform will offer insights and thought leadership on key issues in education. SCORE team members and other experts in Tennessee and across the nation are the key contributors.
3. Showcasing Student Progress and Impact Over the Years
Our new impact page showcases how Tennessee students are making gains thanks to partnerships forged and investments made. In addition to offering a deep dive into SCORE’s 2023 impact, it offers a timeline of student and organizational achievements over the last 15 years. This page is a testament to the impact we are making together.
Looking Ahead
For a teen, the 15th birthday is often viewed as a stepping stone to 16 and finally getting your driver’s license. We carry that same anticipation as we look ahead to our next 15 years and beyond.
I invite you to explore our new website, engage with our content, and continue to partner with us on this journey. Together, we can build a brighter future for Tennessee students.
Nicole Floyd Smith is SCORE's vice president of advocacy and communications.
