July 1, 2021

NASHVILLE – The State Collaborative on Reforming Education (SCORE) has released the following statement from President and CEO David Mansouri about the announcement that SCORE Chief Postsecondary Impact Officer Russ Wigginton has been named the new president of the National Civil Rights Museum.

We are so proud of and grateful to Russ Wigginton, who will soon be leaving our SCORE team to become the president of the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, one of the premier national museums and heritage locations.

As SCORE’s first chief postsecondary impact officer, Russ has done an incredible job launching and building our postsecondary efforts, leading and developing some groundbreaking reports advancing key pieces of policy, expanding our reach and partnerships, and initiating several projects across the state to ensure greater college access, completion, and student success.

His years of experience, passion for students, and ability to engage and involve others in the work have laid the groundwork for our ongoing success in the postsecondary space.

Please join us in thanking Russ for his outstanding work and congratulating him on this amazing new opportunity. We know Russ will do important and impactful work at the museum, and we wish him the very best!
