TN2030 imagines the groundbreaking educational achievement gains Tennessee could realize if just one additional child per public school classroom makes progress each year for the next five years. While we are ultimately interested in every child achieving success, this measure is symbolic of an attainable rate of progress needed to make significant strides forward across the whole state.
If we unite around these goals, we can spur our state toward the ultimate objective of more Tennesseans earning impact degrees and credentials that enable economic independence. It is the next step in our state’s continued and collective pursuit of common and ambitious goals.
The TN2030 goals will:
- Clearly put forth record-setting goals around third- and seventh-grade achievement, pursuit of postsecondary opportunities, and postsecondary completion.
- Encourage additional thinking to create a more complete picture of the most effective pathways for students to travel from education toward careers of economic independence.
- Improve data use and accessibility at the state and local level to enable greater understanding of student success.
- Build shared accountability across K-12, postsecondary, and workforce sectors that can lead to mutual action.
