Determining whether students are on track can be challenging — especially for state leaders awash in data but unable to easily access and use that data to inform policy decisions.

In this Friday’s Focus, SCORE President and CEO David Mansouri leads a conversation with Anne Wicks, director of education reform at the George W. Bush Institute in Texas, about their work in supporting and evaluating state longitudinal data systems that meaningfully connect early childhood, K-12, higher education, and workforce outcome data for even better information and decision-making by educators and policymakers.

Watch this episode to learn more about:

  • Using state data systems to support students in transitioning from secondary education to postsecondary education to work
  • The economic urgency of academic proficiency and achievement
  • How disruption can create opportunities and focus for systems change
  • The important connection between industry and education
  • The pipeline tool the Bush Institute is sharing to help states compare policies and student performance measures across the country to understand what measures are meaningful and effective
