Former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is featured in a new video that explains the importance of Tennessee’s Common Core State Standards. Frist, founder and chairman of the State Collaborative on Reforming Education (SCORE), says in the two-minute video that higher standards in school provide a foundation for success throughout life. “Quite simply, the Common Core will help to better prepare students for the jobs of the future,” Senator Frist says.
The video has been posted at www.expectmoretn.org, the website of the Expect More, Achieve More Coalition, a statewide alliance of more than 300 education, business, and community organizations working for high academic standards in public education and raising support for Tennessee’s Common Core State Standards.
