As Manager of Charter Initiatives, Trent supports SCORE's strategy to foster high-quality charter school growth and improve the conditions for schools to launch, operate, and thrive across Tennessee. Before joining SCORE in 2025, Trent worked as a charter school authorizer at the Tennessee Public Charter School Commission. He began his career as a teacher, teaching middle school writing and social studies at both a public charter and a traditional public school in Metro Nashville Public Schools. Originally from Arizona, Trent earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Alabama and a master's degree in education from Lipscomb University.
