When the State Collaborative on Reforming Education (SCORE) gathered with friends and partners to celebrate 10 years of education progress and leadership for students, one highlight of the event was the appearance of three Tennessee governors who all share a focus on education.

Governors Phil Bredesen (2003-11), Bill Haslam (2011-19) and Bill Lee (current governor) emphasized the importance of setting high expectations for academic achievement and adhering to student-focused policies in a discussion moderated by former Tennessee Teacher of the Year Cicely Woodard.

The following video captures the entire conversation with the governors as well as a message from SCORE Chairman and Founder Senator Bill Frist, who was honored for his leadership in elevating the issue of education in Tennessee.

The collective experience of these leaders in working to improve education in Tennessee can inform and guide us as we continue moving the state forward in education outcomes.
