Jo Byrns High School leaders say they’ll do whatever it takes to make sure all children succeed. From enrichment classes to small-group remediation, the school works together to improve student learning. Starting in middle school, Jo Byrns—a school that serves students in grades 7 through 12—focuses on the importance of pursuing higher education. These high expectations are one of the reasons Jo Byrns School was selected as a middle school finalist for the 2011 SCORE Prize. On Monday, October 8, SCORE will award the second annual SCORE Prize at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Please click here to reserve your free tickets to the event.

We hope that Jo Byrns High School’s story of success will inspire you to continue in your own work to prepare students for success after high school. Please watch this video and read this blog to hear about their best practices to improve student achievement in Cumberland County.
