Connecting Education & Opportunity: A Framework for Credential Impact in Tennessee

On Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024, a SCORE Institute highlighted the credential impact framework outlined in our report, Connecting Education & Opportunity: A Framework for Credential Impact in Tennessee.

SCORE Institute

Tennessee stands at a crossroads where the future prosperity of its students and its economy depends on better supporting students through education toward workforce opportunities. We need to better understand which degrees and credentials hold value in the workforce and then ensure all students can access pathways toward those credentials.

During this convening, SCORE shared a framework that uses data to help Tennessee education leaders and students understand and assess the impact of specific degrees and credentials. We heard from a panel of experts who worked alongside SCORE and other key stakeholders throughout 2024 to inform the framework. This framework can ensure students have the information they need to earn degrees that are better aligned to workforce need and enable economic independence.
