Partnering to Advance Effective and Responsible AI in Tennessee Education

SCORE is partnering with Playlab, a tech nonprofit, to help Tennessee educators harness artificial intelligence (AI) effectively and responsibly.

AI is reshaping how students learn and how educators teach. As Tennessee continues to lead in education innovation, educators need the knowledge, best practices, tools, and confidence to use these emerging technologies thoughtfully.

To advance that work, SCORE is partnering with Playlab, a tech nonprofit devoted to creating a future where educators and students everywhere have the agency to use and shape AI, to offer two free virtual training sessions for Tennessee educators. The sessions will make AI approachable and relevant, giving educators practical strategies to integrate AI into teaching and learning and the resources to participate in the Presidential AI Challenge.

Training Schedule

Registration for these events closed on Nov. 19. Registrants who attend both sessions will receive access to Playlab software, curriculum, templates, and resources for use in their classroom — including a $50 gift card.

Session 1: Thursday, Nov. 20 | 3:30-5 P.M. CT
Introduction to the AI Challenge & Building on Playlab

Session 2: Tuesday, Dec. 2 | 3:30-5 P.M. CT
Project Submission & Building with Students

Putting AI Learning into Action: The Presidential AI Challenge

Educators can take their learning with Playlab a step further by participating in the Presidential AI Challenge. The challenge invites educators and students to design AI projects that address real-world problems while fostering critical thinking, creativity, innovation, and responsible application of AI. Participants in the challenge have the opportunity to be recognized nationally, with top projects eligible for awards of up to $10,000.

Through Playlab’s training sessions, educators will gain the skills and resources to either submit their own project as an educator-innovator or to guide their students as a student coach in the challenge, exploring AI concepts together in an engaging, practical way.

Participation in the training does not require educators to apply for the Presidential AI Challenge. In addition to gaining access to professional development and Playlab’s AI tools, educators who complete both sessions will receive a $50 gift card as a small thank-you for their time and participation.

If you opt to participate in the Presidential AI Challenge, both educator and student projects are due Jan. 20, 2026.
