DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS
The Director of Communications will play a pivotal role in shaping SCORE’s communications strategy, with an emphasis on digital communications to amplify the organization’s mission. This role is responsible for developing and executing innovative digital communications and marketing strategies to increase engagement with SCORE’s key audiences and inspire them to take action on its advocacy priorities.
This position requires a creative and strategic thinker who is a skilled writer and digital storyteller with a strong understanding of social media trends, email marketing, and website management. Additionally, this position requires a keen understanding of policy and advocacy work in a nonpartisan environment.
SENIOR DIRECTOR OF WORKFORCE INITIATIVES
The Senior Director of Workforce Initiatives is a new role designed to lead SCORE’s efforts to connect education to workforce opportunity. This position will strategically lead and execute on SCORE’s workforce-focused portfolio, with an emphasis on ensuring Tennessee’s education and training systems are connected to the workforce and hiring needs of employers and the state — ultimately affording every student the opportunity to reach economic independence.
The person in this position will play a critical leadership role in shaping and executing SCORE’s strategy at the intersection of education, workforce development, and economic development. The senior director will bring deep expertise in state and federal workforce systems, serving as a subject-matter expert on critical education-to-work issues including nondegree credentials, federal and state workforce funding streams, workforce development boards, apprenticeships, work-based learning, skills innovations, and employer engagement, among others. This role requires someone who can lead a complex portfolio of work, engage deeply with employers and workforce leaders, and translate data and research into actionable strategies that improve alignment between Tennessee’s education and workforce systems.
DIRECTOR OF GOVERNMENT RELATIONS
The Director of Government Relations will be responsible for executing SCORE’s government relations agenda in service of advancing student achievement in Tennessee. This role is accountable for operationalizing how SCORE’s priorities are advanced with government partners — tracking legislation, coordinating lobbying efforts, maintaining high‑trust relationships with policymakers and state agencies, and ensuring that government relations strategy is executed effectively across SCORE’s policy, research, and programmatic work.
The Director serves as SCORE’s day-to-day advocate at the Tennessee General Assembly and with executive branch partners, translating organizational priorities into legislative strategies. The Director manages contract lobbyists and a legislative fellow, coordinates government relations activity internally and with partners, and provides political insight to advance SCORE’s mission and priorities.
