Courtney leads SCORE’s research and data analysis efforts, including piloting and researching innovative practices that could improve outcomes in Tennessee across the K-12 to jobs continuum. She joined the SCORE team in 2016 and previously served as the director of educator engagement. Before joining SCORE, she served as the deputy director of evaluation at the Tennessee Department of Education, where she supported high-quality implementation of teacher evaluation. Courtney is a native of Kingsport, Tennessee, and a proud graduate of Tennessee public schools. After graduating from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree in political science and Spanish, she taught fifth grade in Charlotte, North Carolina, through Teach For America. She then went on to receive her master’s degree in public administration and policy from the University of Georgia.
